Although every new appliance is fully tested by the manufacturer prior to despatch, it is essential that on site commissioning is carried out by a qualified engineer to ensure optimum efficiency and reliability. This also applies to heaters/boilers, which have been converted from one fuel to another ie: oil to gas etc.

Commissioning is carried out using an electronic gas analyser. This checks the flue emissions, carbon monoxide, excess air temperatures to calculate both gross and nett efficiencies and generally makes sure the appliance is running safely, efficiently and economically. A list of all the checks is then printed out and attached to a commissioning report. The customer is provided with a copy of these test results for future comparison to subsequent combustion tests. This will ensure that any changes in efficiency which may lead to failure of the appliance can be quickly recognised and remedied.
